This totally reminds me of my school days. One of my senior projects was to design a clock that represents the meaning of time.
Well, as we all know, clocks are there to tell us the time. It wasn’t a hard project but it was definitely a brain-killing project for me. I thought of all these possibilities. Then I saw this project by Ken Lo. The first thing that popped in my head was: “That is so brilliant, combining both a calendar and the time together! Why didn’t I think of that!”

I can’t stop thinking about how incredible this idea is, especially when the music industry is going digital. As the digital generation goes on, we don’t really touch music anymore. And I always feel sad when I see a beautiful cover on a vinyl or CD in a record store and yet never buy it. So, this play button idea really hits me: it’s a button, which you can pin it on your shirt, your purse, your whatever; but it also plays music. And more importantly, it’s collectable. Who doesn’t like buttons?

Do you ever get annoyed when you lose sticky notes? Well I know they’re supposed to stick on somewhere, but when they pile up, the important ones are easily lost in the bunch. And that’s why this Watch wrist-bend sticky note captures my heart. Awesome, isn’t it? Now, I don’t have to write down stuff on my hand, which always makes me look like a 12-year-old!!

No, we are not talking about any sort of toys or sweaters that have a penguin on it, we are talking about actual penguins wearing sweaters. And no, it’s not a joke. It’s not anything you can find on Tumblr. But it is a touching story with a sad beginning and a happy ending.
If you heard about the recent oil spill on New Zealand’s coast, you’d know the environment and wildlife around that area are in a risk, including the penguins. A local yarn shop, Skeinz, is rescuing them, cleaning them … and knitting sweaters for them. The sweaters to protect their furs and keep them warm. This idea is quickly spreading around the world. Now, thousands and thousands of knit lovers are joining the volunteer team to make sweaters for the penguins!
You know how much we love crafting and this story is just so wonderful to hear. If you are also a knitting expert, or at least know how to knit, join the team and give the penguins some love!
